Message from Dr. Mary Ann Cyr, Assistant Superintendent
It is my pleasure to introduce myself. I am honored to assume the role of K-12 Assistant Superintendent for Taylor School District. I live in Monroe, Michigan with my two sons, Daniel and Michael. They are both recent college graduates and have entered the workforce in their respective fields. My career history consists of 22 years as a public educator, six of those teaching grades kindergarten through 12th grade, five years as a high school assistant principal and eleven years as an elementary principal. In the last three years, I have also worked as a part-time adjunct professor in the Department of Education at Siena Heights. My university degrees include a Doctoral Degree in Leadership and Supervision, an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Counseling, a Master’s Degree in Educational Organization, a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English Literature and a minor in French Literature.
I lead with a passion for teaching and learning and have the firm belief that each one of us can learn something new every day. My leadership style is to behave as a servant leader who shares best practices that enrich the lives of others, enhance our organization and ultimately help to create a more just and caring world. I believe that leadership is a privilege that carries with it the responsibility to inspire others, and to direct them to attain the vision and goals of our organization. There is no better joy than knowing that my involvement or interaction has assisted in the success of our stakeholders. I am confident that we will work together as a professional community to help each one of our students meet with success.
I look forward to seeing you in our schools and at different community events.
Dr. Mary Ann Cyr
