Junior Gold to determine bowling champion
By Aria Ragland, ‘26
The Junior Gold Championships is the ultimate tournament for young bowlers across the country. Players from all around the world will compete for four days, bowling on difficult oil patterns, and trying to qualify for the next round, to help determine a national and/or world champion. The tournament will be held on July 10-22, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The tournament has eight divisions, four each for boys and girls: U12 Boys, U12 Girls, U15 Boys, U15 Girls, U18 Boys, U18 Girls, U20 Boys and U20 Girls.
Junior Gold is a big deal for youth bowlers; it’s planning to come to Detroit in 2024.
Thousands of dollars in scholarships are available to the winners. In 2021, the scholarships added up to half a million dollars! These four age groups will be contending for the scholarships: U12, U15, U18, U20.
On a personal note, I am already qualified and will be competing in this year’s tournament!
