Attention 10th Grade Students and Parents:
The Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) Early College Application is now available. The Early College Program is an application process. To qualify, 10th grade students should have passed all classes at the high school their freshman year and up to this point their sophomore year.
Students who apply and are accepted into the program will take two college classes each semester junior year and senior year. The classes run Monday - Thursday and students are bused over to WCCCD at the end of 5th hour and then are bused back to the high school in time to catch the bus home. There are no college classes on Fridays. Students can either stay at the high school during 6th and 7th hours and work in Media Center or go home.
The WCCCD Early College classes are paid for by Taylor School District. Each participating student is responsible to pay for the books needed for each class.
College classes at WCCCD start in August, before Taylor K-12 schools begin. The students will need to find their own transportation for those first few weeks. More information will come from the college once students are accepted.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MAY 29, 2020.
Students will receive notification of acceptance or denial by June 5, 2020.
When the application is complete, press the "Submit" button and the counselors will receive it.
