Curriculum

Our program uses the research-based, Highscope Curriculum. The curriculum is recognized world-wide and has years of extensive research showing both positive short and long term effects on children who are in a Highscope setting. The curriculum is based on the fundamental premise that children are active learners who learn best through play. Children have the opportunity to plan their activities, follow through upon them, and then reflect upon the activity. The daily routine also includes times for a small and large group experiences as well as outside play.

The Highscope curriculum includes learning in areas of creative representation, language and literacy, writing, initiative and social relations, conflict resolution, movement and music, classification, serrations, numbers, space, and time.
