The Taylor Preschool program is a Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), this is a state funded program and is FREE to those families who qualify. How do I qualify?
Your Child must be 4 years old by December 1, 2014.
Step 1. Call Preschool at: (313) 295-8362 when you are ready to schedule an appointment for an Interview. Please leave your first name, last name and a day time phone number.
A return phone call will be made to schedule a day and time, preferably during regular school hours.
At the interview which will take about 15 minutes, it will be based on your family income and questions about you and your family.
Step 2. Please bring with you, your child’s following documents: Child’s Birth Certificate, Immunization Records (up-to-date), (2) Proofs of Residency - Driver’s License and Utility Bill or other. Proof of Income – Recent pay stub or income taxes.
Step 3. During the interview the teacher will go through the eligibility guidelines with you to see if you qualify for the GSRP program. At that time you can request a full day or half day (8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) or half day
(3 hours). Starting and ending times are approximate.
Full day is 6 hours – For those who work full-time or going to school full time.
Half Day is around 3 hours – We have A.M. Session – Morning or P.M. Session – Afternoon.
Preschool classes are four days per week; Monday – Thursday. NO Preschool on Fridays.
You must provide your own transportation to and from Preschool.
