The
University of Myersville After-School Program is sponsored by Wayne
Metropolitan Community Action Agency. The program welcomes
students from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Eligible
participants are those who qualify based on family income: those
receiving cash assistance, and those who are free and reduced lunch
eligible. It operates 32 weeks throughout the school year and
offers a four week summer program. The program hours are
Monday through Friday from 3:05pm during the school year. The
summer session will begin Monday through Friday for four hours each
day with weekly field trips.
The University of
Myersville offers academic enrichment providing homework assistance,
and tutoring in the area of computer skills, science, social
studies, reading and math. Cultural/Recreational enrichment
provides students the services of contracted vendors and include,
but is not limited to, dance, sports, games, art, music, and drama.
Personal enrichment includes preventional workshops on chemical
abuse awareness, violence, leadership development and anger
management. Parental and family support activities are
scheduled throughout the year.
The
University of Myersville offers and after-school program that
is nurturing and challenging. Students feel safe, engaged, and
valued. We acknowledge each individual child's situation and
the challenges and successes that they bring to the program.
We strive to create a positive atmosphere where both the children
and their families feel welcomed and excited to participate in all
of our programs.
