Astronomy? What is it? Does it have to do with out earth or our human body's? Well no. Astronomy deals with outer space, that of what is around the Earth. Astronomy is from the Greek word astron meaning "Star" and nomos meaning "Law". Astronomy deals with scientific study of celestial objects; such as stars, planets, comets and galaxies. Astronomy also studies Phenomena that originate outside of the Earth's atmosphere; such as the cosmic background radiation.
