AM = after midnight - the 12 hours from midnight until noon

PM = the 12 hours from noon until midnight

colon - :  - these dots are put between the numbers that show the hour and the numbers that show the minutes – Example  12:25

quarter  - 15 minutes

minute hand – the big hand that moves all the way around the clock in one hour

hour hand – the little hand that only moves between 2 numbers in one hour
