Classroom paraprofessional - Mrs. Ayers

Each student has different needs and learns in different ways. To best meet each student’s needs I will teach them individually, in small groups, or as a large group, depending on their needs. I will also try to spend time with each student, as he or she needs it, to master what is being taught. This may mean that not everyone will be doing the same work at the same time or may not have the same homework. This should not be taken as a sign of unfairness. I will do what I feel is best for each student. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to call or email me, I will be more than happy to explain the reasons behind my actions.

Tardy policy – Students are to be in their seats at the time class begins or they will be considered tardy. They have 4 minutes to get to class; this is plenty of time no matter where their classes are located in the building. If tardiness becomes a problem, the student will get detention and eventually be suspended according to Hoover's tardy policy.

Classroom Behavior Students must respect each other; teasing and making fun of others will not be tolerated.
Students must keep their hands, feet, and other objects to themselves.
Students need to control the tone and volume of their voices.
  Consequences to inappropriate behavior:
  • Stern look – 1st warning
  • Verbal warning
  • Call home /Detention
  • Counselor/BC-TC
  • Referral to asst. principal

***The above is subject to the teacher’s discretion depending on the severity of the behavior.

  • You will be graded on your participation, homework, Planner, daily work, quizzes, and tests.
Homework

Homework is due at the beginning of class the next day after it is assigned for an “A”. Homework that is not finished will be finished the next day in class for a “D”. The students will have until the end of that day to turn in the late homework; it will not be accepted after that.

8th graders have math homework every Monday.

 7th Graders Homework -

 Tuesday – math homework

 Wednesday – science homework

 Thursday – social studies homework

Supplies Students must bring necessary materials to class. The only supplies they are required to supply for my classes are pens and/or pencils and their planners. If you would like to donate to our classroom, the following items would be helpful: Kleenex, paper towels and puzzles.
Textbooks Any books assigned or lent, whether used in class or taken home, are the students’ responsibility. If any books are damaged or lost the student may be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing the book.
Absences If a student is absent it is up to him or her to find out what he or she missed while gone. It is up to the student to check with the teacher about any missed homework. Extra time will be given to finish.
