Welcome

Dear Eureka Heights Families

Welcome to 2009!  We have a lot of exciting things happening at our school as we begin the New Year.  We are working very hard to become Taylor’s first “Green” school.  Following are some of the activities our students are involved in:

  • Eureka Heights recycles paper.  Each classroom as well as the main office, teacher work room, and social work office have recycling bins.  Each Friday they are emptied by our Student Council into our paper recycling dumpster.  Abitibi Paper Retriever then collects the paper from that dumpster
  • Eureka Heights teachers re-use old magazines and newspapers for different classroom projects.  We also have an art teacher Ms. Malloy, who uses these times when making art with the students.
  • Eureka Heights is in the process of adopting a polar bear through WWF.  Once we receive the stuffed animal and picture they will be displayed in our lobby area.
  • In the spring, our art teacher Ms. Malloy will be making bird houses with all of the students with the intent that they will hand them in the yard at their home or the home of a relative.
