Robotics - Southfield Competition

TnT 280 - Taylor's Robotics Team

The weekend of March 4-6th, TnT 280, attended their first competition of the season at Southfield high school. The robot itself impressed the crowd with it’s ability to shoot balls into the high goal and the way It scaled the tower by curling its arms, revealing a different message for the crowd every lift. FIRST STRONGHOLD, the game, is played by two alliances of three teams each. Alliances compete against each other to breach their opponents’ defenses, known as outer works, and capture their tower. They score points by crossing elements of their opponents’ outer works, scoring boulders in their opponent's’ tower goals, and surrounding and scaling their opponents’ tower itself. After the qualifying rounds, TnT was ranked in 7th place, and heading towards the elimination rounds, after the alliance selection, TnT found themselves as the 5th seed alliance captain. Unfortunately, the robot suffered an unlucky set of circumstances and tipped over twice during the quarter-finals, ending their run. Even with that tragedy, the team had a great time between cheering on other teams and winning the imagery award. Overall, the team had a great time and they are looking forward for the Centerline competition on march 18th.
