Career Center Advisory Meeting
On November 2, 2016, the Taylor Career Center held its Fall Advisory Meeting. The purpose of the Advisory Meeting is to bring CTE instructors together with business, industry, parents, former students, community leaders and secondary institutions. Each CTE program works with their Advisory Team on how to best prepare students to be career ready.
The Career Center was very fortunate to have Henry Ford Community College, Wayne County Community College and University of Northern Ohio all in attendance. Along with our secondary institution partners, we had numerous business and industry leaders. A few of our business partners were -
Big Boy, Future Tool
L A Martin
Among our community partners were -
State Representative Erika Geiss
Taylor City Clerk, Cynthia Bower
Taylor School District Superintendent, Ben Williams and Assistant Superintendent of Taylor Schools, Dr. Mary Ann Cyr
Taylor School Board Member, Deborah Stellini.
The food for the evening was provided by Chef Ostrowski's Culinary Arts program. Several students earned extra credit by volunteering their time and energy to receive guests, serve the food and clean up afterwards. The food was great and the kids did a fantastic job.
We are extremely grateful to all our Advisory members for donating their time and expertise. Our next Advisory Meeting will be held in the Spring. If you are interested in joining our team, please contact the office of the Taylor Career Center at 313-295-5757.
