Rocks &

Minerals

(STC)

Rocks are made up of different minerals.
Minerals are made up of only one substance.
Rocks and minerals have different properties that people use to identify them and to decide how they could be used.
Rocks have properties that also tell how they were formed.

Plant Growth

 &

 Development

(STC)

Plants need light, water and nutrients from the soil in order to live and grow.
During a plant's life cycle, one seed produces one plant and one plant can produce many seeds.
Flowering plants need bees to pollinate them so that the plants can make seeds.

Chemical

Tests

(STC)

Common household chemicals have different physical and chemical properties.
Testing chemicals can show physical changes and can help to identify the chemical.
Mixtures of solids and liquids form solutions or suspensions.
Mixtures can be separated through evaporation or filtration.
